About The Heintzman Family
Please sign in to see more.
This Family Tree is being created by and for descendants of Theodore August Heintzman, the German emigre who created Heintzman Pianos, for many decades a Canadian household name. Theodore August arrived in New York in 1850 but later
moved to Canada where the piano business originated.

The story of Heintzman Pianos is a fascinating one; it is well-documented as is
some of the family history, particularly of family members who carried on the business after Theodore's death. However, there are still many gaps from earlier generations, and as yet, no record that combines all Theodore's children and their families down through the generations. In 2007, the first of a new generation, the eighth, was born to a great great great grand- daughter
of Charles Theodore, the son who started out in the piano business but died two
years before his father in 1897 at the age of 33.

The impetus for setting up this website was provided by the enthusiasm and information from family members who have joined the Facebook.com group, Heintzman's of the World. Heintzmans of the World was set up by Peter Heintzman, a great great grandson of Charles Theodore and by summer 2007, there
were 34 members. I am Peter's aunt, daughter of the late Theodore Francis Heintzman, and I look forward to working together on this journey of discovery to create a resource for future generations of the Heintzman dynasty.
